Meredith Duddy Handt was born and raised in Rockland County. Her family has resided in Rockland for over 50 years. She is the daughter of 2 Clarkstown educators and has followed in the footsteps of her mother, also a Speech and Language Therapist.
After graduating among the top 10% at Clarkstown High School North, Meredith went on to receive her B.S. in Communication Disorders at the Pennsylvania State University in University Park. While attending Penn State, she was active in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), received Dean's List honors, and was inducted into the College of Health and Human Development Honor Society. Meredith was selected to receive an assistantship through William Paterson University, where she earned her M.S. in Communication Disorders.
Meredith spent the next 3 years working for Volusia County schools in Florida, while her husband earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. While in Florida, Meredith worked at a National Blue Ribbon School and completed requirements for the American Speech-language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), a national accreditation.
Upon her recent return to New York, Meredith completed 1 year working through Rockland County BOCES and Clarkstown Central School District. She has received her New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology and is happy to return to Rockland, where she currently resides with her husband,
Dr. Josh Handt, and their dog, Cody.
